ADC & ERO Mon informs
Mon, December 21 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner and Electoral Registration Officer of Mon, P Mono has notified to all concerned that the list of possible duplicate electors has been prepared based on the verification reports of the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and the same has been displayed in the DC’s office notice board. “If you wish to be heard, you should be present before me in person or through a duly authorized representative for a hearing in support of your claims and objections during office hours from 9:00 AM to 4: PM on or before December 22, 2017,” the ERO stated in a notification.
ADC Pughoboto notifies
Pughoboto, December 21 (MExN): In view of the general assembly election 2018, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pughoboto, Avelu Ruho in a notification has informed all the arms license holders under Pughoboto sub-division to produce their arms license for verification either at Pughoboto police station or Ghathashi police station on or before January 12, 2018. Failing to produce the license for verification within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of license(s) as per appropriate section of the law, the ADC said.
DDTOA office closed from Dec 23
Dimapur, December 21 (MExN): Dimapur District Truck Owners Association (DDTOA) has informed all the registered members that the office of the Association will remain closed with effect from December 23 till January 4 in view of Christmas and New Year celebration.
ANTA lauds NSCN (IM)’s gesture
Kohima, December 21 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) HQ Kohima has lauded the NSCN (IM) for “showing wisdom and respect” by returning the Wokha bound taxi (Tata Sumo) keys seized by NSCN (IM) cadres from a taxi counter in Kohima recently. A press release from ANTA informed that the keys were returned to the president of ANTA HQ Kohima by “high ranking officials” of the NSCN (IM) in the HQ office personally. Terming the act as “a humble move in dealing with the common people,” the ANTA HQ office appreciated the “goodwill festive gesture”. Further, it requested the NSCN (IM) and All Commercial Vehicles Association (ACVA) to come to a term of “perpetual reconciliation” and avoid further misunderstandings and confusions. The ANTA HQ office also wished the public of Nagaland a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
Imlibenla visits Mkg district jail
Mokokchung, December 21 (MExN): Imlibenla Wati along with her friends visited Mokokchung district jail and distributed gifts to the inmates. While speaking with the inmates, Imlibenla said the reason she chose to visit them was to remind them of how special they are. She encouraged the inmates to take this time as a great opportunity to build their relationship with God “who loves everyone irrespective of who they are or what they may have done.” A press note received here stated that Imlibenla Wati has been visiting Mokokchung district jail annually since she was crowned Miss Mokokchung in 2012. She was accompanied by the 27th A/C NPF Youth Wing along with her friends.
Assam Rifles organize debate contest, lecture
Wokha/Dimapur, December 21 (MExN): Wokha Batallion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organized a debate competition on ‘Drug Free Nagaland’ at Koio village on December 20. The aim of the event was to bring awareness about the ill effects and grave consequences of drug addiction, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. Meanwhile, Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted an awareness lecture on how to join Armed Forces at Purana Bazar, Dimapur on December 19. The lecture aimed to educate villagers on different types of entries to Armed Forces and condition of service, AR said in another press release. The lecture was attended by one GB, two Chairmen and twelve villagers.
