DENSU extends Christmas greetings

Dimapur, December 22 (MExN): The Dimapur Eastern Naga Students' Union (DENSU) has extended warm Christmas greetings to all. “May the spirit of the Christmas fill your home with peace, joy and love,” a message from the union stated. Meanwhile, the union also extended appreciations to the Power Department for bringing back normalcy to the power supply. It also appealed the state government to work out the process of installing the new 100-MVA at Nagarjan sub-station as assured in order to resolve the power scarcity permanently.  

NIIT Dimapur informs

Dimapur, December 22 (MExN): The NIIT Dimapur Centre has informed that classes will remain suspended on December 25 and 26 and on January 1 and 2. A press release from the Head of Centre Daniel Changkiri informing this extended Christmas and New Year greetings to all citizens of Nagaland. “May the new beginnings bring peace and prosperity all around the world,” it added.  

NPP condemns ‘atrocities’ against Christians

Dimapur, December 22 (MExN): The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland has vehemently condemned the “blatant atrocities” and “acts of vandalism” committed against Christian communities and institutions in BJP-ruled states of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Asserting that the acts of violence and threats not to celebrate Christmas commemorating the birth of Christ are unacceptable, the NPP maintained that such acts are a direct threat to the secular ethos and rights provided for by the constitution of India. These acts of violence and threats only divide and polarize the country, it added and called on local church associations and right-thinking citizens in Nagaland to condemn such acts.  

PHC inaugurated at Peshu

Tuensang, December 22 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for Land Revenue, VGs & Woman Resource Development, L. Khumo inaugurated the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Peshu village on December 22. The program was chaired by M. Chango VCC Peshu. Welcome address was delivered by S.P. Khou Hd GB while special number was presented by S. Boho IB. Short speech was delivered by P. Pukho Chairman PHC Thonoknyu and traditional tune presented by Y. Seying. Other highlights included speech by the Chief Guest, vote of thanks by C.S. Tumo, Council Secretary, and Cultural presentation from Thangoun Cultural Troupe.  

YUK condoles

Kohima, December 22 (MExN): The Yimchungrü Union Kohima (YUK) has expressed shock and grief over the demise of one of its member Er. Mukam Kusun, SDO PWD (H) on December 22 at Dimapur. “Late Er. Mukam was a man of integrity and a dedicated officer who always stood for the uplift of his people in times of need,” the union said in a condolence message. “The vacuum created due to his untimely demised will be difficult to fill it. His death is a great loss for the union in particular and Yimchungrü community in general,” the YUK added while extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.  

NSCN (IM) mourns

Dimapur, December 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of Wungshim Awungshi S. who passed on December 22 at Zion Hospital Dimapur. Late AS Wungshim joined the national service in 2000 and was posted as Registrar NJB on May 11, 2016 till his last breath, a condolence message from the NSCN (IM) informed. “He had served the nation wholeheartedly to the best of his ability for the cause of the nation until his demise,” the message stated and extended heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.  

UNDP appoints youth wing officials

Dimapur, December 22 (MExN): The United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) has appointed office bearers for its youth wing. Yabang I Imchen will be the president, Nokzenketba C Pongen – vice president, H Khumtimong Sangtam – general secretary, Nchumthung Ngullie – joint secretary, and Tsuvito Tikhir – joint secretary. This was informed in a press release from UNDP president, N Hotongse Sangtam.
