CBI busts human trafficking racket that stranded 23 youth in France New Delhi, December 29 (IANS): The CBI on Friday said it has busted a human trafficking racket and booked three persons on charges of sending 23 teenaged students to France in 2016 for "a rugby training camp". An FIR was registered on Thursday against Lalit David Dean, Sanjeev Raj and Varun Choudhary, said a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials, adding "the accused had collected Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh from the parents and sent the students, aged between 13-18 years, to France on the pretext of rugby training". "After the students reached France in February 2016, they were dumped in a gurudwara." "The return tickets of trafficked students were cancelled by the agents but two boys somehow managed to come back before their tickets had been cancelled. One boy was even caught by French police after which Interpol was informed and then the CBI started investigation," the CBI official added.   Congress legislator allegedly slaps Himachal woman cop Shimla, December 29 (IANS): In a video grab gone viral, Congress leader and Himachal Pradesh firebrand legislator Asha Kumari is seen involved in a tiff with a woman constable and slapped her on Friday, as Congress President Rahul Gandhi was visiting the state. Eyewitnesses said as the constable posted outside the Congress Bhawan tried to stop Dalhousie legislator Asha Kumari, an AICC secretary, she got infuriated and allegedly slapped her. In retaliation, the constable allegedly slapped her back. It was on the intervention of others, including legislator and former Cabinet Minister Dhani Ram Shandil that the tempers were soothed. Another legislator and former Cabinet Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was also accompanying Asha Kumari. Gandhi is here on a day-long visit to Shimla to take feedback from party workers and legislators on reasons for the party's defeat in the assembly polls held on November 9.
