Liquor worth Rs. 34 lacs recovered
Medziphema, December 29 (MExN): The Medziphema Battalion of the Assam Rifles on Thursday seized liquor worth Rs. 34 lakhs from a truck. The recovery was made after the AR troops along with Police representative established a check point at Pherima village under Dimapur district, a defence press release stated. Two persons identified as Mahadil islam, 20 years, and Rowbul Hussain, 20, were arrested for possession of 1200 cases of Kingfisher beer, the release added. The two accused were handed over to Medziphema Police Station for further investigation.
AR arrest NSCN (K) cadre
Zunheboto, December 29 (MExN): The Assam Rifles has claimed the arrest of an NSCN (K) functionary from Krimitomi village under Zunheboto district on December 25. The cadre was identified as Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Mulato Assumi, 30 years. Incriminating documents pertaining to NSCN (K) faction, one mobile handset and 94 Spasmo Proxyvon Capsules were also recovered from his possession, the AR claimed in a press release. The cadre along with recovered items was subsequently handed over to Zunheboto Police station for further investigation.
Career Guidance Seminar held
Mon, December 29 (MExN): As part of ongoing efforts of Assam Rifles to acquaint youngsters with the various avenues of joining Indian Army/Assam Rifles, the Mon Battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a ‘Seminar on Career Guidance’ on December 28 at Council Hall, Mon Town. The seminar was aimed at motivating youth and creating awareness amongst them about the various avenues of joining Army/Assam Rifles and how to prepare for NDA and CDS Examination, the AR informed in a press release. In addition to guidance on career counseling, weapon and equipment display was also organised during the event which was attended by 46 youths.
