8th NCYM Convention from Jan 5

Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): The 8th Convention of Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) will be held from January 5 to 8 at the Holy Redeemer Parish, Tobu under Mon District. Naiba Konyak, Advisor, State Lottery, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA) and Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM), Government of Nagaland will be the Chief Guest while Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, will be the main celebrant. Rev. Dr. Sherman Kuek OFS, Diocese of Melaka- Johor, Malaysia, will be the Resource Person.  

Twenty six from BJP join NPP Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): The National People’s Party (NPP) today claimed that all together 26 Nagaland Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members including Mandal Officer bearers along with Mahila and Youth Wing of 52 A/C Longkhim-Chare joined its fold on December 28. The said members had earlier resigned from state BJP on November 18, informed a press release from Y Changsang Chang, NPP Tuensang District Unit member.  

FGN condoles Kohima, December 30 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has expressed grief at the demise of Shulahu Chuzho who passed away on December 30 at his native village Phusachodumi in Chakhesang area. Born on November 7, 1916, Chuzho joined the Naga National Service in 1951 and faithfully served the Nation in various capacities, a condolence message from I. Temjenba Lkr, Kedallo, FGN informed. He finally served as a member of the Mayam Riyam (Supreme Court) and held the post till his last breath. “His true sacrifice and patriotic service rendered to the Nation shall always remain alive in the annals of the Naga nation,” the message added.  

NSCN (IM) mourns Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the untimely demise of Deputy Kilonser Yaruingam who passed away on December 29 at Mumbai. Late Yaruingam joined the National Service in April 1986 as a Private and rose to the rank of Deputy Kilonser during his service spanning three decades. “He had served the nation wholeheartedly and to the best of his ability for the cause of the nation till his demise,” a condolence message from the NSCN said. The GPRN extended its deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.  

AR creates awareness on Govt Schemes Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): Continuing with its efforts to raise awareness on the various Government schemes, the 32 Assam Rifles organised a lecture at Darogapathar in Dimapur on December 29. Various Govt scheme viz., Digital India, Mahatma Gandhi National Pension Scheme, National family Benefit scheme and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana were highlighted to the 20 villagers, which included GBs and village councilors, in attendance, a defence press release stated.
