EKFD convenes emergency meeting
Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): The Eastern Khiamniungan Forum Dimapur (EKFD) has convened an emergency meeting on February 28, 12:00 pm at its treasurer’s residence. Therefore, all the office bearers and executive members have been asked to attend the meeting positively.
Gov extends Sekrenyi greetings
KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 26 (MExN): Nagaland State Governor, PB Acharya today extended Sekrenyi greetings to people of the Angami community. “In celebration of this unique festival, let us all cleanse ourselves by leaving one’s differences aside and instil in our hearts the spirit of love, joy, peace, forbearance, goodness, faithfulness and gentleness. The first positive-step is to share these qualities with families, friends, neighbours, acquaintance and to society which will strengthen the bond of love and unity among the people of Nagaland as a whole and will lead in transforming our Naga society into a new prosperous Nagaland,” the Governor stated in a press note. He expressed that celebration of this festival would bring continuous peace and progress to the Angami Community.
Appeal to release pension of disabled persons
Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): Former president of Physically Handicapped Union Nagaland has drawn the attention of the Minister for Social Security & Welfare, Nagaland regarding the problems faced by the disabled persons in the State. In a press release, Heshiho T Yepthomi, on behalf of the physically handicapped persons, highlighted that the State government has not released the pension for the physically handicapped persons from the year 2014 till date. When the matter was inquired in the District Welfare Officer, it was learnt that the pension is yet to be released by the State government, the release said. Therefore, Yepthomi has requested the Minister to look into the plight of the disabled persons and release the pension at the earliest.
DMC consultative meeting
Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): A consultative meeting will be held with all the council chairmen and GBs under Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) with regard to the formulation of State Service Level Improvement Plans and State Annual Action Plan for Dimapur Town under AMRUT Mission on February 29, 11:00 am at DMC conference hall. Therefore, Administrator of DMC H Atokhe Aye has requested all to attend the meeting without fail.
Liquor seized in Medziphema Town
Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): Excise Mobile Squad personnel led by the Superintendent conducted raid in Medziphema Town and seized 445 bottles of assorted liquor. In this connection, two persons were arrested and booked under relevant section of the NLTP Act, 1989. A press release from Superintendent of Excise (MS), Katoho Sumi further informed that the seized articles have been deposited in the Excise Mobile Squad Malkhana.
SDEOs informed to collect textbooks
Kohima, February 26 (MExN): Director of School Education, Nagaland, Senthang, has requested all the Sub-Divisional Education Officers (SDEOs) to collect the free text books for 2015-16 from Dimapur godown as per the following schedule given below: March 3, 2016 – Mon, Tuensang, Longleng, Kiphire, and Phek districts; March 4, 2016 – Kohima, Dimapur, Peren, Zunheboto, Wokha, and Mokokchung districts.
