ZTYO supports demand for good roads Zunheboto, February 28 (MExN): In the backdrop of the indefinite bandh proposed by the ZCCI and HATOA on goods trucks plying from Lumami to Zunheboto, the Zunheboto Town Youth Organization (ZTYO) has expressed support to the demand for good roads stating the present roads are in deplorable condition. ZTYO in a press release issued by its Media Cell urged the BRO to take the matter into serious consideration. The youth organisation further stated that the BRO should take care of not only the roads from Lumami to Zunheboto, but all the surrounding roads which fall under its jurisdiction. Meanwhile, the ZTYO reiterated that the price of essential commodities in the market should not be hiked as a result of the Chakka bandh. In case of an unfortunate public outcry due to the inconveniences caused, ZTYO stated that the organisations and the department (BRO) concerned should be able to render public explanation and take stock of the situation.  

  R Tohanba expresses sadness Kohima, February 28 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary R Tohanba today expressed shock and sadness over the demise of R Shokheamba Yimchunger of Huker village under Shamator sub-division on February 28. Late Shokheamba was among the first group in the first NAP Battalion Chumukedima, Tohanba informed in a condolence message. He also rendered his service for the uplift of Huker village in different capacities, including Advisor, Chairman, Managing Board, Government Middle School, Huker and Village Council Secretary. He guided and advised every society and organization of Huker village throughout his life, Tohanba added. Shokheamba was 103 years and is survived by two sons, four daughters, and grandchildren. The Parliamentary Secretary further extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the soul of the departed rest in peace.
