Monthly Kiphire DPDB meeting held Kiphire, March 5 (MExN): The monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Kiphire was held today with its Vice Chairman and Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire A. Chumremo Odyuo as chairperson. The Vice Chairman welcomed the gathering and reviewed the agendas of the last DPDB, where various departments were asked to respond to the agendas which were discussed during the last DPDB meeting. The DC also initiated the new agendas where verification report in respect of work charged and casual employees and registration of Shukyahru were also discussed. The District Veterinary department presented the department activities to the house.  

  AKMWP convenes general meeting Kohima, March 5 (MExN): The Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP) will hold a general meeting on March 9, 4:00 pm at 2K Hotel, Lady Mills Road, Officer’s Hill, Kohima to discuss some important issues pertaining to Kohima Town. Stating this in a release, AKMWP General Secretary Thejao Sekhose requested all presidents and secretaries of the 19 wards and unit panchayat under Kohima municipalities to attend the said meeting without fail.     Dead body found in Dimapur Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): Dead body of a man (around 40 years) identified only as Rahul Choudhary was found inside a room at Kuda village in Dimapur on March 5. The victim is reportedly from Tripura and living alone, a press release from PRO, Dimapur Police said, adding the cause of death is suspected to be natural and the room was found locked from inside. The body has been kept at the District Hospital for Post Mortem examination. Claimant for the body or relatives and friends have been requested to contact East Police Station, Dimapur.     NPCC informs its officials, members Kohima, March 5 (MExN): AICC observers will participate in the commemoration of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar cum Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee delegates’ leadership training programme scheduled to be held on March 11 and 12 at Congress Bhavan, Kohima. Therefore, NPCC Working President Ayang Aonok in a press release has requested all PCC Members, District Presidents, General Secretaries and all Frontals to participate in the training.     Seminar on energy conservation Kohima, March 5 (MExN): To create awareness on energy efficiency and conservation, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India and Nagaland State Designated Agency (NSDA) on energy conservation will conduct a seminar on March 9 at 12:00 noon at Japfu Christian College, Kigwema. Resource person from M/S Novotech Environmental Engineering Pvt Ltd, Kolkata will give a PowerPoint presentation on energy conservation to the college students.     Veterinary Aid Camp at Phesama Kohima, March 5 (MExN): 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth) NAGA and 14 Field Mobile Veterinary Hospital conducted a Veterinary Aid Camp at Phesama village in Kohima on March 1 and treated 627 animals. According to a press release from PRO (Defence), Kohima, the villagers expressed gratitude to Commanding Officer and all ranks of 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth) NAGA and Capt Rahul Sharma, Medical Officer, 14 Field Mobile Veterinary Hospital for their assistance and contribution. Village Council Chairman Vimedo Chuse also expressed hope that more such Military Civic Action programme would be organized in future, the release added.
