Agriculture department review programme
Kohima, March 9 (MExN): A two-day review of ongoing programme-cum-Kharif campaign for the year 2016 was inaugurated at the Directorate of Agriculture in Kohima on March 8. D. Suokhrie, Director of Agriculture, asked all field officers to be diligent and sincere in their assigned duties so the farmers will benefit. He urged all to be dedicated in their job with the objective of increasing food grain production in the State. Despite the challenges and difficulties, the director also impressed upon the outpost officers present to be more responsible in discharging their duties. The department News Letter 2014-15 was also released. About 50 officers from various districts and sub-divisions of the state are attending the programme.
NCSU Phek div supports head office
Kohima, March 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU), Phek division has expressed solidarity with the demands of the NCSU Head Office, Kohima with regard to Police Engineering Project. In a press release issued by its Secretary Razou Lohe and President Kuzosheyi Alex, NCSU Phek division urged the department responsible for Police Engineering Project to annul the table tenders for various constructions. “Knowing full well of the Government standing order, the Department has simply over-ridden the order. The action of the department is in gross violation of the Government order against such table tenders,” the division stated. “Accordingly it must be rectified immediately and fresh tenders be invited for fair bidding.”
32 AR organize vet camp
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): 32 Assam Rifles and 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital organised a veterinary medical camp at Lungwiram village in Dimapur on February 28 under Military Civic Action Projects. A total of 602 animals (cattle-112, dogs- 123, pigs- 163, sheep/goat- 94, poultry- 110) were provided free medical aid and free medicines by the 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital during the Camp.
ARTC&S organizes medical camp
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): Assam Rifles Training Centre & School (ARTC&S) organized a medical camp at Razaphe village in Dimapur on March 8 under Assam Rifles civic action programme. A medical team led by Deputy Commandant Pratibha Chauhan, Chief Medical Officer, Assam Rifles Hospital, Dimapur provided free out-patient services and medicines to 125 villagers.
Assam Rifles build borewell
Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): 37 Assam Rifles handed over a borewell, which was constructed by Assam Rifles as part of Civic Action Programme under Financial Year 2015-16, to Chumukedima village on March 5. Representatives of Village Council and Assam Rifles were present during the ‘Handing-over Ceremony’, Assam Rifles informed in a press release.
Children’s Day of Prayer observed
Kohima, March 9 (DIPR): With the rest of the churches in Nagaland under Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), the Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church D. Block observed the Children’s Day of Prayer on March 6 at the church premises. Pastor of Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church, N. Silubo Zeliang, delivering a message on how parents should look after their children, said that children are a gift of God and are to be viewed as a blessing and a source of strength. He stated, “If we look at God’s kind of love, parents should reach out to their children in self giving love.” He also said that “our” love for the children should not depend on their mood, but parents should also play their role so that children will be able to put their trust upon their parents. He further opined that parents may be intelligent, industrious, cleaner, well meaning and even biblically knowledgeable, but if God’s love is missing then “parenthood cannot be to our children what god intends for us to be.”
Training for govt employees in Tuensang
Tuensang, March 9 (DIPR): Inaugural function of the induction training for ‘Group B and C’ State government employees under Tuensang district was held on March 8 at DC’s conference Hall, Tuensang. Sponsored by DOPT, the training will be conducted by the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) from March 8 to 18. Additional Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Nchumbemo Odyuo exhorted the trainees that healthy attitude is needed in the working place. He said that clerical employees are the backbone of the office; therefore, one needs to develop a sense of ownership and maintain good coordination. He also stressed on the importance of promoting spirit of team work among colleagues. He further encouraged the trainees to have good work culture and keep one’s mind open and receptive and also make working place clean and healthy.
