Training on cardamom held
Zunheboto, March 11 (MExN): More than 30 developmental officers from various blocks a one day training programme on Master Trainers’ Training on Large Cardamom cultivation conducted under convergence programme at DC Conference Hall, Zunheboto on March 9. The programme was jointly organized by the Department of Horticulture and the Rural Department, DRDA Zunheboto, a press note informed.
Speaking as the resource person, Vevotalu Rhakho, Field Officer, Spices Board of India recommended on the use of seedlings for propagation as the trees were too susceptible to pest and diseases while Senti Longchar (DK), Horti Officer spoke on Cultivation techniques and highlighted on the importance of site and variety selection according to the altitudes of the project area. The training program was chaired by Chubatoshi, DHO Zunheboto.
AR conduct free medical camps across State
Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): To commemorate the 181st Raising Day of Assam Rifles, on March 9 free medical camps were organised across the State by the under command units of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (North). Aim of the Medical Camps was to reach out to the medically deprived section of the society and to achieve the same, areas like Ungma village at Mokokchung District, Sikiur village at Tuensang District, Ganga at Wokha District, Tuensang Town, Naginimora, Medziphema, Peren, Dimapur and Mon District were addressed. AR press note stated that the Medical Camps were success with people from all walks of life came and availed the benefits of free medical care at various places in the State.
ARTC&S observes ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’
Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): As part of the Assam Rifles Swachhta Pakhwada for the year 2016, Assam Rifles Training Centre & School has organised ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ from March 7 to 9 at Battalion, Companies, Wings level in Shokhuvi, Dimapur and Diphu garrison of the centre. A press release said that this includes conduct of shramadan by all ranks and families in residential areas, parks, roads/pathways and office premises. All drains and garbage bins were cleared in and around the areas.
Medical camp for ex-servicemen
Wokha, March 11 (DIPR): A medical camp was organized for the ex-servicemen of Wokha district at Ganga, near Wokha Town on March 9. The camp, organized to commemorate the Raising of Assam Rifles on March 24, 1835, was inaugurated by Col Litton Dhar, Commandant, 28 Assam Rifles. The event was supported by the district administration where all necessary assistance was provided by DC Wokha, Robin Lotha, SP Wokha, Chumrenthun Khuvung, Addl SP Wokha, Tokhovi Achumi, SDO Thavaseelan K and Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Entithung Lotha. The 28 Assam Rifles not only provided medical assistance to the ex-servicemen but also organized a “Grievances Cell” to address their problems. CSD facilities, free refreshment, and vehicle for conveyance of old and the aged were provided from Wokha Town to the Camp.
