Dimapur Jewelry shops to close from today
Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): The Nikhil Nagaland Swarna Silpi Samiti has informed that Jewelry shops in Dimapur Town will remain closed from March 12 to 17 to protest against imposition of Excise duties.
Meeting on NERP postponed
Kohima, March 11 (DIPR): In view of the Assembly session, the meeting called by the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland for Systematic Voters' Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) on March 17 at Hotel Japfu at 4:00 PM in connection with the Election Commission of India’s recently declared National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) has been postponed till further notice.
NCCAF annual general meeting
Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): Nagaland Community Conserved Areas Forum (NCCAF) annual general meeting will be held at Hotel Japfu at 11:00 AM on March 16. All the CCAs are requested to attend the meeting without fail. NEZCC Spring Festival - 2016
Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): The 2016 Edition of the NEZCC Spring Festival is scheduled to be held at the NEZCC Complex from March 18 to 20 to celebrate the vibrant cultural heritage of the region and the nation. About 400 artistes from the North Eastern States as well as from other regions will be participating in the festival. Special attraction of this year’s edition include: participation of communities from outside the region residing at Dimapur, Differently able Children, Alobo Naga and the Band, Prashant Tamang, Folk Artistes from the North Eastern Region, and Local talents. The Festival will also feature competitions & play activities for Children, performances by renowned comedians Purneken & Chujang, besides Cuisine & Crafts Mela daily.
SKK clarifies on ultimatum to DoSE
Zunheboto, March 11 (MExN): With reference to the ultimatum served to the Department of School Education (DoSE), the All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has informed that the 20 day ultimatum includes immediate revocation of all transfer along with the post order of Teachers in all Sumi inhabited areas and not only Shovishe GHS Zunheboto. The SKK cautioned that failure on the part of the department to revoke the “Transfer along with post order”, the Sumi student community as a whole would take its own course of action for which the department would be held solely responsible.
Unison meeting on March 12
Kohima, March 11 (MExN): The Unison Society will have its general body meeting on March 12 at 5.30 p.m. at Naga Hotel, Naga Hospital Colony, Kohima. Members failing to attend the meeting will have to pay fine of Rs.500 (Only genuine case(s) will be accepted). Important agendas will be discussed during the meeting.
Workshop on Research Methology for Ph.D students
Kohima, March 11 (DIPR): The inaugural function of the ten-day ICSSR sponsored ‘Workshop on Research Methology for Ph.D students in Social Science’ will be held on March 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ladies Common Room, Nagaland University, Kohima campus, Meriema where the chief guest will be Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima campus, Prof. Pardeshi Lal and the guest of honour will be former Pro- Vice chancellor, Prof. A. Lanu Ao. According to the programme, welcome address will be delivered by Head, Department of Commerce, Dr. N. Martina Solo, introduction to the workshop will be given by course Director, Dr. Ratan Kaurinta. Vote of thanks will be delivered by course Co- Director, Dr. Amrendra Kumar.
YTC General Session on Mar 15
Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): YTC has convened a General Session to be held at Y-Awünrü Village on March 15. In this regard, a notification from the YTC has directed all YTC Officials, YTC Executive Members, YTC Advisors, former YTC Officials and representatives from ENPO, ENSF, ENGOA, YGOA, YAA, YWO, WYH, WYSU, GBs Federations, Public Forum of Pungro, Shamator and Chessore areas,YBBA, MLAs, Ex-Candidates, Public Leaders, and three representatives each from every villages led by respective VCC/Hd.GB, to attend the same without fail. Further informing that the date of arrival at the venue shall be March 14, YTC informed that new agendas, if any, may be submitted to the YTC officials.
NCC camp at Mkg underway
Mokokchung, March 11 (MExN): 24 Nagaland Independent Company NCC (24 NL (I) Coy) is conducting its Combined Annual Training Camp at 78 CRPF Bn’s coy location at DEF Colony Mokokchung from March 11 to 20. A total of 600 boys and girls cadet are participating in the camp. OC 25 NL1 Coy Mkg Lt COL. V Srinivas in a press release said that the camp is being conducted by Lt Colonel Shamsher Singh, the newly appointed Commanding Officer. Lt Colonel Shamsher Singh has been the commanding officer of the Army Mountaineering Institute, Siachen Glacier. He himself has been a distinguished Mountaineer of Indian army. The camp will culminate with NCC certificate examinations.
