DC Mkg directs to supervise schemes
Mokokchung, April 7 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board was held in the ADC (Planning) conference hall on April 7 where DC & Vice chairman of the DPDB, Sushil Kumar Patel presided over the meeting. Addressing the meeting DC informed all the Heads of offices in the district to supervise/monitor schemes, especially centrally sponsored schemes being implemented for the welfare of the people. DC said “it is the duty of all heads of offices to monitor such schemes” and ensure that benefits are percolated down to the targeted group and submit a report to him. Improvement of Tuli circular road from Nh-2 (222nd km to NH-2 225th Km) via Ao Penzu village also came up for discussions and it was agreed to forward to the Development Commissioner, Nagaland for consideration. The Vice Chairman also informed all the members about the importance of Wild Life Protection as it was circulated to all the districts by the state Department of Forest, Environment, Ecology and Wild Life on the need to preserve them. Er. Temsuwati, DIO, NIC, who is also the Secretary, Officers Club Mokokchung informed members, who have not yet submitted their annual membership to submit the same at the earliest.
Peace Channel Life Skill Development Course ends
Dimapur, April 7 (MExN): Life Skill Development Course conducted by the Peace Channel, Dimapur from March 7 came to its culmination today with valedictory function held at Peace Channel Institute of Music, Art and Culture. There were Twenty nine participants attended this one month course. The valedictory function commenced with a welcome song by the students. RK John, Project Coordinator while introducing the event encouraged the students to excel in whatever art they learnt. The function extravaganza includes exhibition of musical hums, guitar sob, piano and drum exposing the art they learnt during the course. Rev. Dr. C.P. Anto, Director of Peace Channel exhorted to the students to continue with same enthusiasm and interest to obtain the goal. In order to achieve and win victory, we have to undergo so many painful processes in one’s life, he said. He gave away the merit certificates to the students. The function concluded with a peace anthem.
Training held under ‘Access to Justice’ Project
Tuensang, April 7 (DIPR): One day training for paralegal volunteers, NGOs, GBs and DBs was held at CKS Hall and DBs Court in Tuensang on April 6 under ‘Access to Justice’ Project, sponsored by Ministry of Law and Justice Department of Justice GOI in collaboration with Nagaland State Legal Service Authority. The training was organised by Tuensang District Legal Service Authority. Panel of lawyers discussed on RTI, Welfare Schemes, Lok Adalat, Child Right Human Trafficking Right of Arrested Persons, Women’s Rights, Motor Vehicle Act, Legal aid Service, Village Council Act, Rules of Administration of Justice and Police Act in Nagaland. The programme was chaired by Antimangyang Chang and Cheliam Khiamniungan, short speech was delivered by Phuleto Yepto Civil Judge, Mon. The training was attended by Police Department, GBs, DBs, Para Legal Volunteers and NGOs from Tuensang district.
Lecture on career in Army held in Wokha
Wokha, April 7 (DIPR): 28 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 5 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on “Career in Army” for the students of Mount Tiyi College, Wokha on April 5. The aim of the event was to extend awareness among the students and youth from far flung areas of the district regarding the illustrious career in Army. During the lecture, the students were also given an overview of the adventurous life and opportunities to lead a life of honour and respect. The students were also provided with guidance on how to prepare for the entrance test for NDA/IMA/OTA. A display of infantry weapons was also carried out for the students who were anxious to know about the weapon profile of Indian Army.
