RSU condemns rape of school girl
Tseminyu, April 10 (MExN): The Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) has condemned the rape of a school girl at Tesophenyu village on April 5 by one Dilip. In a press statement, the Union has demanded the authorities concerned and the law enforcing agency to immediately nab the accused who is still absconding and award befitting and exemplary punishment to avert recurrence of such crime in the society. It warned that failure to book the accused at the earliest will compel the Union to take its own course of action. The statement issued by RSU President, RN David Magh further informed all non-Nagas residing under its jurisdiction that RSU will start registration of non-Nagas from April 11 to 15 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at its office headquarters Tseminyu. It warned that failing to comply with the order, the Union will take its own strict course of action.
CRPF to distribute sports items, solar lights to public
Kohima, April 10 (MExN): As part of Civic Action Programme and to promote friendly relation between the CRPF and local people, the 78th Battalion, CRPF New Secretariat, Kohima will be distributing various sports items to WAPO youth clubs of Sechü Zubza and solar lights to the people of Jakhama village on April 13, 10:00 am at WAPO Ground, Sechü Zubza.
Mothers’ Day at Phek village
Kohima, April 10 (MExN): The Phek Village Baptist Church will observe 36th Mother’s Day cum 2nd sisters and in-laws get-together from May 7 to 8 at Phek village under the theme “A gracious mother.” The main speakers of the celebration are Zashetalü Chiero, Bino Kenye and Niekhosalü Venuh. The organising committee convenor Sürhonielü Keyho in a press release stated, “We are indeed grateful to God for this blessed opportunity to be organizing such an auspicious and rare get-together programme for the Phekmi women family.” He expressed hope that everyone will participate to make the programme a meaningful and a memorial one despite their busy schedule. All Phekmi sisters and sister-in-laws have been invited to join the programme.
PNU general assembly
Kohima, April 10 (MExN): The Assembly Affairs of Poumai Naga Union (PNU) has informed that the first general assembly of PNU for the year 2016 will be held on April 26 at Thiwa village. Around 600 delegates will join in the general assembly. This was stated in a release issued by PNU Assembly Affairs Speaker CD Jongeo John and Secretary PS Shelavei.
