DC Tuensang informs on arms license Tuensang, July 29 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, Alem Jongshi has informed the public of the district that as per the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the State Government, all arms licenses for which the Unique Identification Number (UIN) has not been generated have ceased to be valid with effect from April 1, 2016. As such, those whose arms licenses are without UIN have been directed to deposit their arms and ammunitions immediately at any of the following police stations within 30 days of the issue of this circular: PS Tuensang, PS Shamator, PS Longkhim, and PS Noklak. The license holders were further informed that they need to apply for fresh arms licenses in Form 'A' of the Arms Rules, 1962. Considering the overall law and order situation in Nagaland, all concerned have been requested to cooperate with the government on the matter in order to avoid any untoward incidents.  

  Two NSCN (R) members join NSCN (IM) Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): The NSCN (R) has alleged that its Finance (Chaplee) Kilonser Langkhuh and Military Supervisor Brig. Khami have defected to NSCN (IM) “looting” whatever donation has been given by the Naga people. The NSCN (R) has therefore asked the general public not to entertain the two regarding donation or any financial assistance asked in the name of NSCN (R). A press release from MIP, NSCN (R) informed that the duo were also a Red Card holder (Langkhuh SL. No. 04 and Brig. Khami Sl. No. 54) and their Red Card under the Cease Fire Supervisory Board NSCN/ GPRN ( R) will stand invalid if they have joined NSCN (IM). The NSCN (R) will shortly induct or assign the authorities to look after the financial affair and also Military Supervisor, the release added.
