
Governor extends Naknyulüm greetings Kohima, July 30 (DIPR): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has extended heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Naknyulüm to the Chang people. “Naknyu festival has a special significance as the festival symbolizes the conquest of light over darkness,” Acharya stated in a message. The Governor urged the people to resolve and to eradicate evils in society and celebrate the festival with traditional peace, unity and harmony. “May this festival inspire us to work for the unity and well-being of our country and strengthen the moral foundations of our society.” Sensitization on commoditization guidelines Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): A sensitization programme on commoditization guidelines was conducted on July 22 for all the Village Education Committees (VECs) under Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO), Dimapur. There were three resource persons. Solomon, Project Assistant briefed on how to implement SSA activities, Vikali Shikhu, Project Assistant spoke on CCE activities and its importance, while Kitoshi Z Swu, JEO briefed on Mid Day Meal activities, powers and functions of VECs in implementing the MDM programme. Summing up the programme, T Kiyelu Yepthomi, SDEO Dimapur told the School Management Committees and Head Teachers/Teachers-in-charge to utilize benefits of SSA and CCE programmes. He stated that MDM cash book, stock and consumption register, meal served, and tasting register should be maintained properly. Lamenting that keeping proxy teachers is encouraged by VECs, teachers I/C, and village authority in their respective village, the SDEO cautioned the authority concerned that if any proxy teacher is found in future under SDEO, Dimapur, the authority concerned will be held responsible. Musical at St Paul Institute of Education, Phesama Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): Musical on Annie the Orphan was presented at St Paul Institute of Education, Phesama on July 30. The musical was presented in aid of Southern Angami Catholic Youth Association’s (SACYA) hostel building project for students of St Joseph's College, Jakhama. The musical reflected the social life of the people, stated a press release issued by P Tepekrovi Kiso. It also demonstrated the social dignity, morality and values that one struggles with in day to day life. The musical conveyed to live with diligence and in the fear of God, the release added. The President of Angami Catholic Youth Association, Medoneisa Marcus was the special guest.
