
DMC informs to open shops on Sundays Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): In view of the coming festive season, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed all the shopkeepers/ business establishments under its jurisdiction to keep their shops open on all Sundays from September 25 in order to facilitate the customers to shop for their respective festivals. However, all categories of vendors, especially those selling second hand clothes, vegetables, and other vendors are barred to sit on the roadside of the following locations: GS Road, Nyamo Lotha Road up to Deluxe Point and from City Tower to NST Central workshop, Khermahal (Tata Parking). This order will remain in force till January 1, 2017, stated a press release from DMC Administrator, H Atokhe Aye. Day of National Repentance Kohima, September 23 (MExN): Based on the resolution adopted during the Chakhesang National Revival held on September 30, 2012, the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) has reiterated to observe September 30 every year as “Day of National Repentance" and mark the day with fasting, repentance, prayer and offering, thanksgiving in all Chakhesang inhabited places and churches, irrespective of denomination. AR apprehend alleged arms peddler Kohima, September 23 (MExN): A team of 9 Assam Rifles apprehended an alleged arms peddler identified as Kevinobo Luho (39) during an operation conducted at Khuzama on September 8 around 11:00 pm. “Based on a specific intelligence, troops of Assam Rifles placed a surveillance to verify the information regarding presence of Arms and Other War Like Store in the suspected house,” stated a press release from Assam Rifles. The Assam Rifles troops apprehended the accused along with one .30 mm Rifle (US made), one hand grenade, and one high explosive round from the suspected home, it added.
