DMHSS holds annual literary event Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Annual Literary Event of Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School (DMHSS) was conducted on September 26 and 27 at DABA Town Fellowship, Dimapur. On the first day, Spelling Bee, Solo, Quartet, Duet and Prepared Speech were conducted. The topics for prepared speech were – Self employment is better than Government jobs; and Social networking and youth.   Events like Quiz, Flower Arrangement, Choreography, Fancy Dress and Painting were held on the second day. The competition for fancy dress was based on three rounds, namely Flowers, Super Hero characters, and 70’s Fashion. For the painting competition, the themes were “Save the Girl Child”, “Mr Dream for Better Nagaland” & “Information Technology (Cyber Security Awareness)”. The competition was held among the four houses – Red, Blue, Yellow and Green, which was further categorized into Senior and Intermediate. Blue House emerged as the overall champion.     ICIT Mkg students donate blood Mokokchung, September 28 (MExN): A voluntary blood donation camp was held at Institute of Communication and Information Technology (ICIT), Mokokchung on September 26 in collaboration with Mokokchung Voluntary Blood Donors Association.   The resource person, Dr Chubala, Pathologist/Medical Officer, Blood Bank, IMDH Mokokchung addressed the participants on topics such as haematology; importance of blood donation, and the presence of a Blood Bank in the district. The Blood Bank in Mokokchung district requires 1000 units of blood, which is yet to be achieved, she stated.   Makshi Jamir, DPO DAPCU, Mokokchung district motivated the students to come forward and donate blood. He also encouraged the students to start Red Ribbon Club in the college. A press release stated that a total of 15 students came forward to donate blood on the day.     U-DISE Day cum training in Tsg Tuensang, September 28 (DIPR): U-DISE Day cum training on ‘Students Data Collection In-sync with U-DISE 2016’ was held at CKS Hall, Tuensang on September 27, organised by the District Education Officer’s office, Tuensang in collaboration with RMSA Nagaland. The programme, attended by DDEO Tuensang and his staff, Rokozeho, Assistant Mission Director, RMSA, teacher representatives from all the schools (private and government) of the district, had Jt. Mission Director, RMSA Nagaland, Dr. Kevi Rio as the resource person. Dr. Kevi stressed on the importance of correct data entry and its usefulness. Aadhaar has become mandatory for every student to be enrolled within UDISE, which will give correct and genuine students’ statistics data of the State, he said. Based on the updated data based records, all the government aids and funding shall be dispatched in the coming future so it should be accurate, he emphasized.
