Intanki National Park refutes report on illegal logging, poaching Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): Apropos the news items published in local newspapers in May 18 and 19, 2016 alleging illegal timber logging, encroachment and poaching inside the Intanki National Park, the Field Director of the Park has issued a rejoinder stating that allegations published in the Newspapers were thoroughly investigated into and were found to be incorrect and unsubstantiated by facts on the ground. The Department has submitted comprehensive proposal for development of the Intanki National Park in line with other National Parks of the country, the Director stated and expressed commitment to protect the Park with active support of the local communities.     Motor rally on Oct 6 Kohima, October 4 (DIPR): In commemoration of the “Wild Life Week”, a motorcycle and vehicle rally is being organized by Kohima and Dimapur Forest Division on October 6, which will be participated by Nagaland Motor Cycle Club and Western Angami Students Organisation. The Motor rally will commence from Dimapur at 9:00 am and would culminate in Kohima around 1:00 pm. The rally aims to create awareness against hunting and sale of wildlife meat amongst the villages located along the National Highway-29. In this connection, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor, IAS, has requested all stakeholders to co-operate with it.     EDSSU sticks to demand for recruitment through NPSC Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): Reacting to the response by the Land Record and Survey (LR&S) department, the East Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (EDSSU) has maintained that the department is going against the June 6, 2016 judgment of the Gauhati High Court. Alleging backdoor appointments in the LR&S department, the EDSSU had demanded that recruitment for the posts of Land Records and Survey Officers (LRSO) and Surveyors Grade-I be made through the NPSC. Warning the department against inviting contempt of court by regularization/extension of the mentioned posts, the union maintained that it will strive to the end and leave no stone unturned for justice.     NSCN (IM) recovers stolen bike Wokha, October 4 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Kyong Region in a press release has informed of the recovery of an unregistered stolen bike. According to a press release, the unregistered blue Bajaj Pulsar 180cc bike bearing Engine No. DJZCDK63808 and Chasis No. MD2A12D220CK63675 was recovered on October 4 in Wokha Town. In this regard, the NSCN (IM) Kyong region has informed the rightful owner to claim the said vehicle by producing original documents in the office of the Central Administrative Officer Kyong Region within 7 days. For more information, one may contact 9612563041.     Rubber Board informs Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): Rubber Board, regional office, Dimapur has informed that all rubber growers applied/availing subsidy have to submit their Aadhaar seeded bank account with photocopy of Aadhaar to the nearest field station or regional office of Rubber Board before October 20 as part of implementation of DBT Scheme. A press release from Deputy Rubber Production Commissioner stated that subsidy will be disbursed on getting Aadhaar seeded bank accounts only and requested all to co-operate.     DC Dimapur informs Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Dimapur has in a press release requested the following civil society organisations, NGOs to attend the RTI week celebration scheduled to be held on October 12, 12:00 noon at the Conference Hall, DC office: Childline, Naga Women Hoho, Naga Council Dimapur, DNSU Dimapur, Lions Club Dimapur, Rotary Club Dimapur, Dimapur District Concern Citizen’s Forum, GBs Federation, GBs Union Dimapur.     One arrested under NLTP Kohima, October 4 (MExN): Kohima Police personnel from Tseminyu Police Station arrested one person for “possession and transportation of illicit liquor”. According to a press release from the PRO Kohima Police, 720 bottles of MC Rum were recovered from a vehicle parked alongside NH-2 during routine patrolling on Monday. The arrested individual was identified as Khiboto Assumi. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the consignment was being transported from Assam to be disposed off at Zunheboto, however his vehicle broke down on NH-2 under Tseminyu PS jurisdiction and was subsequently detected by the police on patrolling duty, the press release stated. In this connection, a regular case under the NLTP Act is registered against him at Tseminyu PS for further investigation.     YBBA Western Range Youth Fellowship held Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): YBBA Western Range Youth Fellowship was held at Tokishe Baptist Borü from September 30 to October 2 with Wongtokiu, Principal, Kihoto Theological College as the main Speaker. A total of 330 delegates from 11 Western Churches took part in the three days event. Along with lively worship services, sports activities, short play competition and talent hunt were the highlights of the programme. This was stated in a press release issued by Youth Secretary YBBA Khalenmew Yimchunger.
