Miss Mon beauty pageant on November 8 Mon, October 9 (MExN): The Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) is organizing Miss Mon beauty pageant on November 8. Issuing of forms for the same began on October 5 at Student's Need Store at Private Station, Mon. The last date for submission of form is October 25, according to a press release.     National Integration Tour to Gangtok Kohima, October 9 (MExN): A five-day National Integration Tour to Gangtok was flagged off from Chieswema on October 9 by Col Robi Kapoor, Addl DIG, HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles, who also interacted with the students. The tour is organised under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector of IGAR (North) with an aim to provide exposure to culture heritage, traditions and infrastructural development of the country to the children of Nagaland. 22 students and 4 teachers from various schools of Phek and Kohima districts are taking part in the tour. The tour includes a visit to Gangtok and sightseeing of various places of historic and cultural importance like Nathula Pass, Harbajan Baba Mandir, and Tsomgo Lake etc.     NCD extends Durga Puja greetings Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has extended warm greetings and best wishes on the occasion of Durga puja. May this festival bring joy, peace, unity and cultural integration amongst all, wished a press release issued by Thsapongkyu Sangtam, General Secretary, NCD.     NCSU Mkg on Dimapur- Kohima four lane project Mokokchung, October 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU), Mokokchung district has extended “fullest support and cooperation” to the NCSU head office regarding its earlier stand against the Maytas-Gayatri (JV) company carrying out the four-lane project of the Dimapur-Kohima National Highway-29. A press release from NCSU Mokokchung district President, L. Tajen Imchen and General Secretary, Toshiakum Jamir alleged that the Maytas-Gayatri (JV) company has “brought immense hardship to the citizens of several districts by abandoning the two-lane projects under Special Accelerated Road Development Project Phase-1, and this act is considered as disgraceful and an insult to the citizen.” NCSU Mokokchung district also cautioned the Maytas-Gayatri (JV) to complete the two-lane project first under SARDP phase-1 in order to avoid unwanted situation and to bring peaceful atmosphere in the state.
