DEO Peren informs

Peren, April 9 (MExN): The office of the District Education Officer Peren has informed all the eligible teachers from both government and private schools to collect the nomination form for State/District Teachers Award and financial assistance for the year 2018 under DEO Peren on any working day and submit it on or before April 15 for further necessary action.  

AR arrests suspected NSCN (K) cadres

Mon, April 9 (MExN): The Assam Rifles have claimed the arrest of two NSCN (K) cadres. According to a defence press release, the Mon Battalion of AR conducted an operation along with a police representative in Ponyu Murrang of Lungwa village under Mon district on April 9. During the operation, the AR troops apprehended two NSCN (K) cadres in possession of incriminating documents, the release stated. The recovery from the operation included one extortion slip signed by Maj. Gen. Nyemlang Konyak, GSO-1, NSCN (K) and Note Books containing details of tax collection and other incriminating documents, the release added. The two – identified as Aching Konyak, 60 years, and Akham Konyak, 43 – along with the recoveries were handed over to Mon Police Station for further investigation.  

LMRSU Union Assembly on April 16

Wokha, April 9 (MExN): The Lotha Middle Range Students' Union has convened its Union Assembly on April 16 starting 9:30 a.m. at the Lotha Students' Office Building, Wokha. All the affiliated unit presidents of the LMRSU are directed to attend the Assembly session either in person or through representative without any excuses, a press release from the union stated. Mangkolemba SDPDB meet held

Mangkolemba, April 9 (DIPR): The Mangkolemba Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board meeting for the month of April was held at ADC Office Mangkolemba on April 6 under the chairmanship of ADC Mangkolemba, Razouvolie Dozo. The Chairman while welcoming the members lauded all head of the offices for the successful conduct of the last Assembly Election. During the meeting, the house decided to forward to the concern authority regarding upgradation of GPS Akumen to GMS and application for grant-in-aid submitted by Principal, Baptist Higher Secondary School, Mangkolemba. The house also discussed regarding the construction of rostrum at Public Ground Nokyu ward and approach road to cemetery, water and electrification at cemetery.  

SAPO mourns Dr. Zhasa’s demise

Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) has expressed deep pain at the demise of Dr. Neitsalie N. Zhasa on April 5. SAPO in a message remembered Dr. Zhasa as a man of “integrity and honesty” who had always shouldered his responsibilities with sincerity and dedications. “In his death, the Southern Angami Public has lost one of its geniuses creating a huge vacuum among us,” SAPO stated while adding, “We pray that his soul rest in eternal peace and the Almighty grant solace to the bereaved family members.”
