World War II veterans informed

Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): All World War II veterans of Dimapur, Mon and Peren districts have been informed that pension will be paid on April 17 from 10:00 am onwards at Zila Sainik Welfare Office (Sainik Bhawan), near Circuit House, Dimapur. A press release from Col TNK Singh (Retd), Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Dimapur further requested all the veterans to come personally along with pension book and identity cards. Book, funeral, medical and daughter’s marriage grants will also be paid on the same day for which identity cards should be brought along, the release added.  

Certificate course on ‘social leadership’ held

Kohima, April 10 (MExN): One month certificate course on ‘Social Leadership’ was conducted at State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT), SCERT during the month of March 2018 for 25 Headmasters and Assistant Headmasters from Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Peren, Phek and Zunheboto districts. Funded by Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), the course was based on ‘Social Leadership Development’ resources developed by National Centre for School Leadership, National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), New Delhi with contextualized, local relevance, informed a press release from NC Kikon, Joint Director, SIEMAT-SCERT. The resource persons were from the State Resource Group (SRG) and officers from SIEMAT, SCERT Nagaland who had undergone professional training at NUEPA, New Delhi.  

Coordination meet held in Jalukie

Peren, April 10 (DIPR): The monthly coordination meeting of Jalukie sub-division was held on April 7 between Nagaland State Disability Forum (NSDF), government officials, GBs, youth and church leaders at Jalukie Town Hall. NSDF President Kezha gave detailed information on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016. He also spoke on roles of the citizens to avoid discrimination of persons with disabilities. SDO Civil, Jalukie, Lankonsen Tsanglao thanked all the members present.  

GHSS Singrijan inaugurates building

Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Singrijan inaugurated its RMSA building on April 9 with KT Sukhalu, Advisor, Department of School Education as the chief guest. Sukhalu expressed serious concern at the issue of proxy teachers in Nagaland and called upon the village councils to help check the menace, according to a press release. He further called upon the teachers to be sincere, dedicated and responsible to their calls. The Advisor also encouraged the students to be sincere in their studies and take one step at a time to achieve their dreams. The program was chaired by Principal of GHSS, Singrijan P Aienla Longkumer and the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Lila Khatri, pastor of Nepal Baptist Church, Singrijan.  

NSCN (IM) recovers bikes

Hebron, April 10 (MExN): The Union Territory-I, NSCN (IM) has recovered a bike (Hero Honda/black in color) bearing chassis number MBLJA06ANGGD09812 and engine number JA06EJGGTI6263. In addition, Hero Maestro Edge, black strip in color, bearing engine number JF33ABHGHO5386 has also been recovered by the UT-I authority, stated a press release from MIP, NSCN (IM). The rightful owners have been asked to claim the recovered bikes by producing proper documents at the UT-I office during the office hour within one week from the publication of this news. NSCN (K) cadre apprehended

Kohima, April 10 (MExN): Kohima battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended an alleged NSCN (K) cadre during an operation conducted at Phulbari Chowk in Kohima on April 9. A press release from HQ IGAR (North) said that the recoveries from the individual included two NSCN (K) “extortion slips” for Rs. 80,000/- and Rs. 10,000/- and cash Rs. 20,070/-. “Subsequently, a follow up operation was launched to carry out search of the residence of the Self Styled Adjutant Job in High School Junction wherein 1 receipt from Traders Union for Rs. 35,000/-, 1 NSCN (K) extortion slip of Rs. 7,000/-, 1 NSCN (K) blank extortion slip and 1 used NSCN (K) extortion slip pad were also recovered,” it added. The cadre along with the recovered items was handed over to North Police Station, Kohima for further investigation, it was informed.
