The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) has organized NSACS 10th Multi Media Campaign-State level music band competition on February 21 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma under the aegis of National AIDS Control Organization (NACO). This event was conducted to create HIV awareness through music.
Four bands -Code XVII, Progressive Soul, Tell a Story and Next to Blue Moon joined the competition.
The judges for the competition included; Dr Akuo Sorhie, Project Director, NSACS, Obed Kath, musician and Khriekethozo Gugu Sekhose, guitarist, Fifthnote.
NSACS project director Dr Akuo Sorhie delivered keynote address while Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Advisor Theja Meru and Project Director, Dr Hovithal Sothu exhorted the band members.
Mengu Suokhrie was the host at the event while Metevinuo Sakhrie, Joint Director, NSACS delivered vote of thanks.
“Next To Blue Moon” was declared the winner of the competition. Code XXVII from Chümoukedima district, Tell A Story from Mokokchung district and Progressive Soul from Zunheboto district stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd runner up respectively.
The winning band - Next To Blue Moon will now be representing Nagaland at the upcoming 4th North East Multi media campaign scheduled for March 5 at Gangtok, Sikkim.
