NFHRCC urges contractor to resume Doyang bridge construction

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has urged the Doyang bridge contractor to resume the bridge construction immediately as working season has already set in.  A press statement issued by NFHRCC convenor Supu Jamir and general secretary W Lemba Chang said the foothills road will not survive without Doyang bridge and as such the same should be completed without much delay as enough time has been lapsed.  The Committee also called for serious contemplation as to why all the major projects in the state are often delayed and sometime abandoned without completion. It therefore appealed to all the concerned starting from politicians, bureaucrats, technocrats and contractors not to lose sight on the welfare and hardships faced by the public.

The Committee meanwhile appealed the Nagaland Governor R.N Ravi to press upon the Government of India to declare the foot hills project as a National Highway. It asserted that once the foot hills road is constructed, it will act as a lifeline for the entire state, unemployment problem would be solved to large extend and the state economy will reap the bountiful harvest. The Committee also wished to have a sitting with Governor at earliest in order to project the clear picture of the historic project so that right prescription will be prescribed to the project through the intervention of the Governor and Interlocutor of Indo-Naga peace talk.
