NFR first railway zone to become UIDAI registrar

Maligaon, March 25 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has become the first-ever Railway zone to become a UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) Registrar to carry out enrolment and updating activity of Aadhaar, NFR CPRO Subhanan Chanda informed on Thursday.

In this connection, the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre at NFR Headquarter in Maligaon was opened on March 25, a release from the CPRO stated.

This centre will now be able to carry out enrolment and updating activity of Aadhaar for railway staff, their families and public at large. Moreover, it will help railway staff and families including the pensioners to get benefits with the usage of HRMS App as well as other services that require Aadhaar authentication. The centre will also be able to earn non-fare revenue with this activity and contribute to the earnings of the Indian Railways, it added.

Initially, the enrolment and updating activity is to be carried out at Headquarters office in Maligaon and it will gradually expand to other divisions and locations in NFR to benefit a large number of staff and their families, the release informed.
