NFR introduces audio-visual road learning training across all divisions

MALIGAON, JANUARY 29 (MExN): In a significant step towards enhancing operational efficiency and safety, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has rolled out its Audio-Visual Sectional Road Learning (LR) training across all five of its divisions.

This innovative initiative is designed to provide Loco Pilots (LPs) and Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs) with a state-of-the-art learning tool to deepen their understanding of assigned routes, station layouts, signaling systems, and safety protocols, a press release issued by the CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma informed.

Developed under the leadership of Sandeep Kumar, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of NFR, the Audio-Visual Sectional LR videos offer a comprehensive, real-time view of railway tracks, station layouts, signal placements, gradients, curves, and bridges. The videos, shot using in-house cameras mounted on locomotives, enable loco pilots to familiarize themselves with the intricacies of their routes before hitting the tracks.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience by allowing loco pilots to virtually experience their routes. Recognizing the challenges of navigating large stations, goods, and passenger yards within the time constraints of scheduled trips, NFR has developed this system to provide a more efficient and structured approach to sectional learning.

These training videos are regularly broadcast in crew lobbies across NFR stations, ensuring easy access and encouraging continuous learning among the workforce, the press release stated. By implementing this training tool, NFR reaffirms its commitment to modernizing its training methods and equipping its staff with the latest resources to improve railway operations, it added.
