NFR launches ‘One station, One Product’ scheme to promote local products

Guwahati, April 26 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched ‘One Station One Product’ scheme across its five divisions as part of the Government of India’s policy under ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ (Self-reliant India), an official release informed. 

The main objective of the concept is to make each railway station a promotional hub and showcase destinations for local products and initially, the scheme is being implemented at five stations, it said. 

Under the scheme, a stall featuring local Assamese Gamocha has been set up at Guwahati station of the Lumding division while at Alipurduar junction station, locally produced jute and timber artefacts are being promoted, it added. 

Darjeeling Tea, a GI tagged product), is being promoted at Darjeeling station of Katihar division. At Naharlagun station of Rangiya division, traditional Headgear, local “Gale” worn by tribal women, tribal men’s jacket is kept to showcase the glimpse of traditional costume of Arunachal Pradesh, the release said. 

Assam Tea is kept at New Tinsukia station of Tinsukia division, added the release issued by NFR Chief Public Relations Officer.
