Guwahati, October 14 (MExN): NFR’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have recovered contraband and smuggled goods items like cannabis, drugs, liquor and stolen rails, measuring tape, foreign made garments worth about Rs. 12.72 lakh in during the period from September 23 to October 9, an official release informed today.
The contrabands were recovered during regular checks and special drives at various stations and trains over Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), said the release from NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Subhanan Chanda.
In addition, the RPF also recovered two stolen Enfield motor cycles during the same period.
The RPF also rescued 45 children at different stations over NFR and handed them over to their respective guardians or NGO’s like Child Line, it added.
