NGRC-1 CU supports ‘early honorable solution’

Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Government Registered Class-I Contractors’ Union (NGRC-1 CU) annual meeting cum advent Christmas celebration was observed on November 29 at its Union conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat road, Kohima.


The Union at its meeting resolved “to support the Naga peace talks for an early honorable solution with a demand to strengthen Article 371 (A) of the Indian Constitution in letter and in spirit.”


As per a press release from the Union, it formed a nomination committee for the selection of new team of office-bearers with KC Angami as convenor, S Bendang Jamir as member secretary and Pfuduolhou Kense as member.


The Union appealed the state government to issue a direction to disqualify any contractor who quotes below the schedule of rate (SOR) during the tender process. While deliberating on the welfare of its members, the NGRC-1 CU also requested the state government to release pending bills of genuine contractors who has successfully completed the project. The Union requested the members to apply Identity Card through the union office which is issued by the government during the office hour. It also informed that its office would remain closed with effect from December 16 and reopen on January 13.


The Union celebrated Advent Christmas with Kezhokhoto Savi, Advocate as speaker. He encouraged the gathering not to be tired of planting goodness wherever they go “because it will never get lost wherever you will plant it.” The message ended with mass spoken prayer. Earlier the service was conducted by vice-president S Bendang Jamir.
