Kohima, December 2 (MExN): The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has reportedly imposed a non-refundable penalty of Rs 1 crore each on the three packages being executed by M/s Ramky – ECI (JV) and M/s Gayatri Projects Ltd for delay in the completion of the  Dimapur – Kohima 2 lane black top project in Nagaland.

Nevertheless, taking serious view for delay in the project, NHIDCL has imposed a non-refundable penalty of Rs 1 crore each on the three packages being executed by the contractors.

Notice for imposition of further penalty has also been given to the contractors, if they fail to achieve the stipulated targets.

MD, NHIDCL held a meeting with top management of both M/s Ramky-ECI (JV) and Gayatri Projects Limited wherein they have been explicitly told that if they are not able to meet the targets as stipulated by NHIDCL, proceedings for termination of contract would be initiated, the statement added.
