Niuland, August 5 (MExN): Niuland district administration organised an awareness programme on four-way Waste Segregation and Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, at DC conference hall, Niuland on August 5.
Resource persons, Yanathung Kithan, Scientist - B from Nagaland Pollution Control Board and Kaiho Achumi, Asst Technology Manager, (ATMA) Department of Agriculture gave a comprehensive presentation on waste segregation and solid waste management.
Kithan, while elaborating on the segregation problem, mentioned that segregation of waste from the source is vital, where the role of individual citizens’ responsibility becomes important. While highlighting the methods of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Kithan said improper waste management has devastating consequences which is a major cause of environmental degradation.
Kaiho Achumi also gave a comprehensive presentation on solid waste management and composting methods.
The meeting was chaired by ADC Niuland, Athsangla.
