Niuland DPDB reviews key development proposals

The Niuland DPDB meeting in progress.

Niuland, September 9 (MExN): The monthly meeting of the Niuland District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, S. Athsangla.

The meeting reviewed the minutes of the previous session and discussed various development initiatives for the district. One of the key decisions was the adoption of government high schools by administrative officers. This move, decided after consultations with the Sub-Divisional Education Officer and headmasters of high schools, aims to improve the overall school performance in the district.

Several proposals were discussed and approved, including the posting of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel for the district. The board also deliberated on the registration and renewal of societies, emphasizing the need for scrutiny to avoid renewing non-performing societies. Urgent issues such as the posting of department officers and the construction of office buildings for various departments – including DRDA, Treasury, Post Office, and several others – were discussed and forwarded to the respective departments for approval.

In addition, officers from the Social Welfare Department presented a detailed report on their activities within the district.
