Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Sharingain Longkumer expressed shock and sadness at the demise of Senior Advocate Nilay Dutta (Advocate General of Arunachal Pradesh) who passed away on September 19.
In a condolence message to late Dutta’s wife, the NLA Speaker said that Dutta was “not only one of the highly respected and acknowledged senior legal practitioners but is fondly remembered as a mentor for many,” and added that his unfortunate demise is a great loss to the legal fraternity and to everyone.
“In his unfortunate passing away we have lost a distinguished lawyer and an iconic figure who made rich contributions both in the court and other fields including in sports administration. Your late husband's noble deeds and work shall always be fondly remembered,” Longkumer added.
The Speaker and his wife conveyed sincere condolences to late Dutta’s wife and family and also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
