NNagaDAO to take issue of non-release of fund to Governor, CM

Kohima, April 15 (MExN): The NNagaDAO Executive board, advisers and chief functionaries today resolved to take up the issue of non-release of fund and other HIV/AIDS program concerns with Governor, Chief Minister, and Chief Secretary and request them to address the issues.

In its emergency meeting held in Kohima, the NNagaDAO members expressed resentment towards the State government, National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), and Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) for their inability to release fund for four months (November 2015 to March 2016). The emergency meeting was held at Regional Resource & Training Centre (Kripa Foundation), Kohima to discuss the non release of fund for the fiscal year 2015-16.

A press release from NNagaDAO President, Abou Mere and Secretary, Inatoli Choppy said that earlier, with the Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar’s intervention, the proposed peaceful protest across the state was kept in abeyance. However, it said, Nagaland government, NACO and NSACS did not release fund to the NGOs and CBOs for November 2015 to March 2016.

Meanwhile, the NNagaDAO executive board has requested all members to have patience and wait for the outcome.
