Dimapur, February 6 (MExN): The member of the NNC Finance Committee, N Niky Angami has issued a note of caution to the police and public at large informing about one K.V. Sumi who is reportedly collecting and demanding a huge sum of money from schools, business establishment, offices etc. all under the name of Chairman NNC, Sumi Region. A press note from the NNC pointed out that the said person was an impostor doing the collection and that the very person is one K. Vikato Zhimo from Lizu Old Village (An Ex-Inspector of Police) and his accomplice namely Zhiehoto Sumi from Kohima who are both “discreetly doing this criminal job” with NNC pad printed by them.
The press note informed that the office of the NNC have come to know everything about them now and therefore warned these two persons that even if anything happen to them since they are doing at their own risk, the Office of the NNC will not be held responsible for any eventuality as such. The Finance Committee (NNC) also appealed to the State police or any agency to take appropriate action against such impostors for the interest of the general public. It was also informed that some persons (impostors) are doing the same criminal job in and around Dimapur in the name of NNC Sumi Region.
Therefore, the general public, business establishment, offices, etc. should beware of such criminal activity especially around Kohima and Dimapur. The NNC has appealed to all concerned to report such activity to its office immediately if any such collection or demands are made.
The press note also stated that the Office of the NNC (Central) was the only authorized body to do such collection for the interest of the Naga people and the NNC in particular.
