NNC celebrates 73rd Naga I-Day

Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): The Naga National Council Parent Body (NNC-PB) Zeliangrong region, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland observed the 73rd Naga Independence Day at New Jalukie village, Peren District on August 14.


The NNC Yimchungrü Region under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe (Acting President), Zhiongba Yimchungrü (Vice President) and V Nagi (General Secretary) also observed the Naga Independence Day at Yimchungrü Region.


A press release issued by the MIP Cell NNC-PB Zeliangrong Region, AMN stated that the programme was graced by Liangkebo, Assistant General Secretary NNC-PB as the guest speaker and was presided by T R Philip, Finance Secretary NNC-PB ZLR-R. The event was attended by Naga National Workers of both civil and army setup, along with public leaders and church workers. It concluded with blessing hour and celebration feast, the release added.


Meanwhile, another press release issued by Ahoshe Yimchungrü, President, Yimchungrü Regional Council, NNC stated that the Naga Independence day programme was celebrated with  all the Regional Authority official; Executive Council members; Regional Women Federation officials and members; village level members. The gathering was addressed by the Vice President Zhiongba, Region President Ahoshe Yimchungrü and Region women President Majila Yimchungrü.


“The day was observed with prayer to God in remembrance of Naga people sacrificial deeds for freedom,” it said. “The Yimchungrü Regional Council also reaffirms the NNC General Meeting's Resolutions adopted on March 7, at Lotha Region and will fully support and stand behind the leadership in the interest of the Naga people's freedom and NNC (Parent Body) in particular,” it added.
