NNC condemns ‘cross border operations’

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): The Naga National Council today condemned the “so called cross border operations by the Government of India against the Nagas on the other side of Eastern Nagaland or Myanmar-occupied Nagaland.” A press note from General (Retd) Thinoselie M Keyho, President, NNC said: “Mighty India should be ashamed of what she is trying to do to the Nagas who are not her enemies.” He stated that policy strategists in Delhi are underestimating the implications of their “smart surgical strikes.” “The crude show of force against the Nagas as well as the people and Government of Myanmar is arrogantly reckless and will prove to be counter-productive. India must know that it will have a wide long range of unknown consequences which will be regretted later. The action will not deter the Nagas from defending their sovereignty,” the NNC President added.
