NNC (Parent Body) calls on Naga political groups to unite

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The NNC (Parent Body) on Wednesday reiterated that unless the Naga national workers of all groups unite first to work out the best political solution, there can never be an ending settlement of the Naga political struggle for freedom.

Stating this in a press release issued through its Information & Publicity Wing, the NNC (Parent Body) appealed to all the Naga national political groups to “sit across the table and thrash out the differences and work out an honourable, acceptable and inclusive solution for peace in the region.”

It also expressed happiness to witness the inclusion of the NSCN-K (Niki) “in the separate talk/ negotiation” in Delhi recently by the new Interlocutor appointed by the Government of India. “The NNC (Parent Body) appreciates this new development, however none has commented or welcomed so far in this matter,” it stated.

Noting that the Government of India has officially resumed political negotiations with NSCN (IM) and the Wc, NNPGs with the new Interlocutor AK Mishra, the NNC (parent Body) stated that “this clearly shows that political negotiation never concluded nor ended with the Nagas.”

“Therefore, the NNC Parent Body must point out the incompetence and failure of the former interlocutor RN Ravi, whose political negotiation with NSCN (IM) and NNPGs (Kitovi) has failed miserably with humiliation and is now nonexistent,” it stated.

The NNC (Parent Body) also requested all the Naga people to solemnly observe the Naga National Martyrs’ Day on October 18, with prayer and petition to God “for the thousands of Naga martyrs who laid down their precious lives for Naga sovereignty.”
