DIMAPUR, JULY 31 (MExN): The NNC (Parent Body) has suspended its General Secretary, V Nagi indefinitely “for breach of NNC Yehzabo.”
A press note the NNC (Parent Body) Media Cell informed that the decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council (CEC), including regional authorities on July 30.
The NNC (Parent Body) claimed that Nagi had “insulted and dishonored the office of NNC President in particular and NNC as a national political institution of the Nagas. His tirade against president Z Royim Yimchunger breached the NNC principle and hurt the sentiments of all committed national workers.”
It accused the former General Secretary of issuing statements “mentioning names and lifting signatures of co-workers many of whom were not informed. Thus, the safety and security of many national workers were put at risk.”
When these incidences were reported to the NNC (Parent Body) President, “a prompt request was made to other Naga leaders pleading for him to continue as co-convener in the Indo-Naga dialogue,” it claimed. It further stated that although Nagi departed for New Delhi, “yet he remained hidden from other Naga leaders and did not join the Naga delegation in the dialogue.”
It further accused him of going against the President’s order “continuing to claim the co-convenership of the WC, NNPGs when Toshi Walling had replaced him in the WC as Co-convener endorsed by the CEC meeting on May 6, 2018.”
“WC, NNPGs, and GoI have understood the core issues and significant steps have been taken without compromising our basic historical rights. V Nagi has pointed an accusatory finger at all Naga leaders presently in Delhi. In the process, he has failed to inspire us as a leader. He has fallen short of our expectations,” it alleged.
Hoping that the suspended General Secretary would “create space for love understanding, acceptance and comradeship,” it meanwhile informed that Toshi Walling, CEC member shall continue to represent NNC (Parent Body) as co-convener and assist the WC, NNPGs in the ongoing political dialogue with the GoI.
