DIMAPUR, JULY 23 (MExN): The NNC Parent Body today issued a statement in reference to a statement issued by the NNPG Working Committee Media Cell on July 21.
A press note from YC Lotha from the Information and Publicity Wing of the NNC Parent Body observed that in the July 21 statement mentioned one Toshi (Yibang) Walling’s name was mentioned as Co- Convener “without the knowledge and approval of the NNC Office and that of Central Executive Council Body.”
It termed this as “complete violation of the Deed of Commitment signed on August 8, 2017 by the Six NNPGs.” “Therefore, this is an insult and a clear conspiracy to create further misunderstanding and division after victimization of our officially recognized leader V. Nagi the General Secretary of NNC Parent Body and Co-Covener of Working Committee (WC) NNPGs,” it added.
The NNC Parent Body said that it has restrained from writing political statements “for the betterment of our people and the political negotiation in particular at this sensitive stage.” “But the situation has compelled and called for writing this statement,” it said, and condemned what it termed was “this hideous design of creating misunderstanding and division at this sensitive and crucial juncture of political negotiation with the Government of India.”
It meanwhile affirmed that the NNC Parent Body will “always stand true to the Naga people and will always work for the whole Naga Inhabited Areas as committed and declared by the NNC leaders in the inception of the Naga political movement for freedom.”
The NNC Parent Body further said it would not stand or work for “someone's vested interest at the cost of Naga people but will always stand true and strong to the Naga People's interest.”
