‘NNC/FGN will continue to work for reconciliation’

My Dear Country Man/Women First of all I gave thanks to Almighty God Lord Jesus Christ our savior and warm greeting to you all on behalf of the Federal Government of Nagaland as well as on behalf of all the true Naga patriot who are no more with us today” On this undisputed historic day of our Nation, as burden of the Nation is laid on us, I am going to take this opportunity to speak in brief based on the historical facts of our nation to have a sight the reality on our nation once again” We, Nagas are inherently a sovereign independent peoples, we have our inborn sovereignty and freedom the gift of God” We always defend it” Also in the 19th century our people took precaution to safeguard our sovereignty with the changing era of the modern world” Fellow friends, here we ought to remember the very facts, that:

1.    Naga people have constituted the Naga National Council (NNC) on 2nd February 1946 to represent us and uphold the right of our people as a Nation” So we declared formally our independence on 14th August, 1947 to the world before India attained its independence” 

2.    Our people held national plebiscite with thumb impression on 16th May, 1951 and 99% of our people voted to remain sovereign and sets of the finger print (Weight 2401b) were entrusted to NNC with the mandate to uphold our sovereignty” 

3.    Our people adopted a resolution on 12th April, 1955 at Tuophema village and the resolution was ratified by NNC on April 27th 1955 in the Lakhute resolution” It gave political plenipotentiary power to NNC” 

4.    Our people have established the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) on 22nd March 1956 through a Federation to Govern our country at the extend of the Yehzabo (Constitution) of Nagaland for which we are celebrating this great day of our Nation today as usual years and generations have passed, but history remains ever green” We have a nation” We have nothing to newly unite after unitedly build up a Nation, we must be just and upright” 

5.    Non-violence has been the policy of NNC we want peace and friendship with all groups, Community’s and Nations war, peace, ceasefire, solution and otherwise are nothing new to us” Indian and Nagas have hall mark “Indo-Naga international ceasefire was declared and it was signed on 6th September 1964” 

The NNC/FGN will continue to work for reconciliation of the Naga National Political groups and continue to support FNR for betterment of Naga future” In connection to putting up of fencing in Naga country without the consent of Naga citizens, who are the owner of the land laid between India and Myanmar (Burma) will not be allowed to do so” As it is Free Movement Regime (FMR)” In this generation, imaginary boundary line will not be considered by the sovereign Naga peoples because Nagas have unique history in the whole world” India and Myanmar should stop discrimination of Nagas immediately” 

As we celebrate this Historic Day, let us renew our spirit, our commitment and our dedication to the service of the nation” Let us also celebrate with pride and fondly remember the contributions and sacrifices of the patriots who selflessly gave their lives for the Nation and the patriots, who selflessly chose to bear the hardships and sufferings in the pursuit of the noble cause” I join the nation in paying my homage to all those martyrs and patriots who are no more with us today” I warmly congratulate all the recipients of the awards and special commendations for their dedication and commitment” May we all march forward with our head lifted high until we find our rightful place as a Nation among the Nations of the world”
