Dimapur, Oct 25 (MExN): The NSCN-K wants a ‘Naga-India talks’ rather than appending any faction to the Government of India talks i.e., NSCN (IM)-GoI or NSCN (K)-GoI talks so that a particular faction a particular faction is not glorified.
“The wisdom of all Naga leaders (church leaders and state politicians) were hijacked and kept at ransom at the hands of our adversaries. Nagas are one, having a single goal i.e., sovereignty. Then, why there should be IK-GOI talks or NSCN (K)-GoI talk? The talk must be rather Naga-India talk. Glorifying the particular faction is our own fault, because no particular faction will solve the Naga problem” Y Wangtin Naga, Deputy Kilonser, Kilo Affairs of the NSCN-K said in a statement. He stated that there shall be no political solution from the NSCN (IM)-GoI talks ‘because it is not sovereignty-oriented or Naga –GoI talk’.
According to the NSCN-K the current NSCN (IM)-GoI talks, supported by Naga NGOs and “puppet DAN government” has created the following: diversion of “international support assistance” into NSCN-IM machineries widening the gap among the Nagas ‘thereby the NSCN and NNC rejecting the NISC and NSG’; NSF, Naga Hoho and NPMHR becoming political wings of the NSCN-IM “putting more salt to the wound’. (“Their misinterpretation of the Naga issue to Grace Collin’s ill-willed mission by siding with the IK-terrorist thereby, condemning and accusing the NSCN ad NNC of accepting India military assistance, proves to be their charge sheets also created extra vacuum never to be refilled. The outright rejection of the NSCN’s invitation on 10.08.06 to these mentioned NGOs for clearing out the cloud of misunderstanding, severed the ties between them and NSCN” Wangtin stated); nexus between the DAN government and IK-terrorist forced the NSCN-K “to drink the bitter hemlock never to be reconciled” and “the declaration of Rio that solution within a year, peace process in the right direction and paying crores of rupees to the IK-terrorist is a part of his one-sided (his equi-closeness to IK-terrorists) policy badly slapped and check of the NSCN”.
Wangtin further stated that the NSCN (IM)-GoI talks led to “the rejection of NSCN peace offer, invitation for open discussion and defying several peace meetings including Atlanta peace talks” of 1997 to 2004 by the NSCN-IM. Tangkhul leaders “threw out” the chance of reconciliation and unification “to the river of no return” and thereby proved the greatest disadvantage of the Naga people which further resulted in the serving of the ‘quit notice’ to the Tangkhul community, Wangtin stated. He also asserted that although the NSCN-IM had killed many NSCN-K and NNC leaders, had the NSCN-K intended to assassinate its rival’s leadership, it would have done so including the life of Khodao Yanthan, Vice-Chairman of the NSCN-IM. “But the intention of the NSCN is to bring unity among the Nagas; therefore, it takes the present misunderstanding as natural phenomenon. It strongly believes on the unification and reconciliation of all Naga factions, but the situation created by the forces of anti-Naga elements made it to abandon its previous stand, but to fight tooth and nail” Wangtin Naga added.
