Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Lotha Region today clarified that the NSCN (IM) or the NSCN (IM) Lotha Region authority in particular had not authorized any of its members to attend the meeting of the Dimapur Lotha Hoho (DLH) reportedly held on October 28 in Dimapur, or to speak against any Lotha individuals.
“Any senseless talking by some individuals which contradicts the principles and rules of the NSCN is totally of their personal views which will be uncalled for,” stated a press release from Mozamo Ngullie, Kilonser/Care taker CAO, NSCN (IM), Lotha Region.
The release stated that in the event, if any member/s of the NSCN (IM) had attended the meeting, it was “purely on their personal capacity for being a Lotha” but does not convey the policy and decisions of the NSCN (IM).
It held that the concerns expressed on October 30 during the Lotha public general meeting in Wokha “might have been exaggerated and distorted as the NSCN is giving its best efforts to up keep the prevailing peace and unity amongst the Lotha people.”
“The NSCN has high esteem and expectations from the advanced Lotha tribe that they will come forward with more positive contributions in support of the closing Indo-Naga Political settlement process.”
Recalling the contributions of the Lotha pioneers in the struggle for common Naga cause since the early days, the NSCN (IM) maintained that it has “enabled us to reach this day of historic political breakthrough and achievements.”
The NSCN (IM) appealed to the people in general to ignore the elements which might be detrimental to the unity of the Lothas and the Nagas in general by exercising maximum tolerance, “as it views the same matter as an opportunity to nurture greater understandings and foster stronger unity amongst all sections of the people for the good and larger benefits of the Lothas.”
