Kohima, August 29 (MExN): In line with the state government's notification on complete ban on single use plastic, training on making paper bags and other eco friendly products was conducted in Pughoboto today by the district administration and Rural Natural Connect Lazami.
Addressing the function, Tiayanger Jamir, SDO (Civil) Pughoboto asked the NGOs especially SHGs and youths that this noble activity can be part of their income generating source.
He also urged them to make the government's initiative a priority and that they should be able to supply the demands of the shops n business community in Pughoboto and the subdivision.
Botoshe, the trainer from Rural Natural Connect highlighted the ill effects of plastics and spoke on the importance of reduce, reuse and recycle of plastics.
He demonstrated an exercise on making paper bags.
Altogether 13 SHGs, Pughoboto church youths attended the training.
