No SDO at PHED Mangkolemba

MALT request dept to assign SDO on or before Oct 15  

Mangkolemba, September 27 (MExN): The Mangkolemba Ao Lanur Telongjem (MALT) today stated that it is “aggrieved to see the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) in Mangkolemba town is without the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) for a long time.”  

MALT, President, I. Tia Jamir and General Secretary, Sentimeren Imchen in a press release mentioned that it has been submitting appeals and ultimatum since August 2016 for replacement of the “then incumbent who was irresponsible and irregular on duty.” The concerned HOD made the replacement with a new SDO vide No.PHE-1/EST/18/2014 (pt-1), Dated Kohima, the 24th July 2017. The order required the new officer to take charge latest by July 31, 2017.  

“However, to the great dismay of the people of Mangkolemba and the sub division, the new SDO is yet to join the office and duty for reasons best known to him and the PHE Department,” MALT expressed in dismay while adding that “yet, after the transfer order was issued two months ago, we still do not have the SDO at PHED Mangkolemba which leads to many problems in the implementation of various programmes and in smooth functioning of the department.”  

Questioning the reason behind the continuous and prolonged absence of the said officer, MALT also inquired whether the concerned HODs are aware of the loophole. “It only shows the serious irregularities and mismanagement in the functioning of the department,” it added.  

Therefore, the MALT requests the PHE department to assign the SDO at PHED Mangkolemba “on or before October 15, 2017 failing which the organization will adopt suitable tactics to meet its just demands.”
