LASU celebrates quadranscentennial anniversary

Kiphire, January 7 (MExN): As the Longmatra Area Students’ Union (LASU) celebrated its quadranscentennial anniversary on Friday; Minister V Kashiho Sangtam reminded the students that there is no substitute for hard work and sincerity.

According to a release from the BJP Nagaland Media Cell, the state Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining and NSMDC told the students that quality education is the only gate way for a good future and that the future belongs to those who have well prepared today. Speaking as a special guest, Sangtam encouraged the student community to be self-disciplined and be role models for the transformation of the society. “We are in a competitive world, where hard work, dedication and sincerity should be practiced for a successful future. There is no short cut for success,” he added.

Stating that anniversaries or jubilees are a time for celebration and a time to introspect and retrospect as well, he also said that people should look to improve themselves in areas where they were weak. Through this celebration, he hoped that LASU would have competitive mindset by rededicating themselves and becoming a torch bearer in transforming the society and nation building. 

Earlier, a dedicatory prayer for the jubilee monolith was blessed by Rev T Tsangkhuchu, Former ES, USBLA, while Minister Kashiho unveiled the monolith. Various speeches were also given by public leaders and prominent personalities, the release stated.
