No work, No pay: Manipur Min warns employees

  Newmai News Network Imphal | January 30   Manipur Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen on Tuesday issued a stern warning that the policy of “No work, no pay” will soon be effective to the employees of her departments. This was expressed today during a surprise visit at the District Social Welfare Office, Bishnupur district.   Kipgen directed the officers-in-charge to properly maintain the attendance register and called on all employees to inculcate the sense of punctuality by attending office in the official allotted timings. One should not forget that salary is being paid by the government in order to efficiently serve the masses on time, she maintained. She also advised the official at the department to ardently listen to the grievances of the people by empathetically dealing them with the issues.   During the visit, the Social Welfare Minister checked all the rooms occupied by the District Social Welfare Office, Bishnupur district and asked the official to keep the office compound neat and tidy.   As the employees in the district brought forward their concerns, Kipgen assured the department officials that she will extend all possible assistance for their welfare and asked them to approach her for any assistance or concern pertaining to the welfare and development of the department.   Kipgen further made it known that such visits to district offices will be frequently done in the coming days so as to ensure that the offices in all the districts are functional and that the district offices will serve its purpose for people residing in far flung areas and those from every nook and corner of the state.
