DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): A road safety programme was organised by the Noklak Police on October 1.
Isahangbe, OC, Noklak Police Station; Anil Kumar, Parivar Unity Road Safety NGO; and Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS, SP Noklak spoke about the factors of accidents. They delved on environmental factors like rainy and foggy seasons. They also sensitized on factors like not giving importance to signboards, driving under the influence of alcohol and other substances, not obeying traffic rules, not wearing helmets etc.
Dr Kaur also demonstrated some safety and life saving measures. She mentioned that during accidents there are golden hours for the persons and if proper treatment is provided, lives can be saved. She emphasized on proper ways of picking up injured persons, treating the unconscious, ways to stop bleedings, and how to help people regain their breath.
The program concluded with distribution of night reflectors to the drivers and riders present.
