Noklak Ginger Candy launched

The Noklak Ginger Candy—a venture technically supported by CIH, Medziphema, Dimapur was also launched by Dr Pritpal Kaur.

The launch is an outcome of the training provided by the Noklak Police in collaboration with CIH Dimapur on October 21, 2020 where 21 farmers underwent a 45 days training on various food processing methods, farming and value additions. Following the training, a woman Self Help Group initiated the production of ginger candies. Dr Kaur stated that the launch is another feather in the cap of Noklak district after the launching of Noklak honey.

“This will help in income generating avenues for women here, which can assist them to send their children to good schools or to meet medical expenses or help villagers,” said Dr Kaur. The production is solely a women's initiative from far flung villages in Noklak, hence Dr Kaur acknowledged that this initiative is a step towards women empowerment in grassroot levels making women as entrepreneurs.

She also informed that soon their group will be teaching other farmers to enable them to start making their own products.
