Official state beauty pageant organisers from the Northeast which comprises of 8 states ( Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal, Assam, Tripura, Sikkim, Meghalaya) have come together to form an organisation called the Northeast Beauty Pagent Organisation.
The office bearers include President, Mele Pucho (Nagaland); Vice President, LV Lalthantluanga (Mizoram); General Secretary, Tai Roket (Arunachal); Assistant General Secretary, Suresh Saikia (Assam); Finance Secretary, Bijay Subba (Sikkim); Public Relations Coordinator, Halley Laithangbam (Manipur); Media and Information Secretary, Dominic Savio Diengdoh (Meghalaya); and Marketing Coordinator Sumit Shil (Tripura).
Members of the organization comprise of Rody H Vanlalhriatpuii, Jeremy Hauhnar, Maria Chanu Pangambam, Vivek Phukan, Aakriti Shen, Tiaren Jamir, Kaheli Chophy, and Anisha Chettri.
The main purpose of the Organization is to create more platforms and opportunities for Northeast girls and also work together to bring laurels to Northeast states.
The NE Beauty Pageant organization will be organising Miss Northeast annually from next year onwards, informed president, Mele Pucho.
The first edition of Miss northeast will be held in Nagaland in 2022.
All the state Beauty pageant winners and 1st runners up from the 8 Northeast states will compete for the title of Miss Northeast.
