The Satoi Range Students' Union celebrated its golden jubilee with a three-day programme from January 7 to 9.

STKK celebrates golden jubilee
Satoi, January 17 (MExN): The Satoi Range Students' Union (STKK) celebrated its 3-day golden jubilee celebration by reflecting upon the accomplishments and strides the union has made over the years and to embark on a journey of new hope.
According to a press release received on Monday, the celebrations were held at Satoi town from January 7 to 9, under the theme ‘Towards New Hope.’ Nagaland Minister for Agriculture and Co-operation G Kaito Aye graced the inaugural function as special guest and unfurled the union flag besides unveiling the jubilee memorial monolith.
The Minister challenged the students to prepare themselves to give back to society because they will be leaders tomorrow. Stating that nothing comes easy and without hard work, he said that students must work hard in sincere dedication in order to achieve their dreams and goals.
S Kavito Aomi, a former president of the union and Assistant Director, Food and Civil Supplies, Nagaland was the special guest of cultural session wherein he called upon to students to give emphasis on preserving one's own cultural heritage and its values.
The theme session was graced by Dr Hutton Sumi, pastor, Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto who stressed on the theme of the jubilee. He said that the world never ceases to revolve and so also the progress of the people. The new beginnings that are made today and pursued with determination will yield fruit of success in days to come and that will, in turn, add to the progress of the society, he added.
Another former president of the union K Atovi Awomi, president, All Nagaland PWD Field Workers Association graced the introductory session and paid homage to the pioneers of the union, the release stated.
Assistant Director, Industry and Commerce, Khekihe K Zhimo who is also one of the former presidents of the union said in the valedictory session that one's identity is what one achieves in life. Addressing the gathering, he also called upon the students to be resolute in their studies in order to become successful in life.
The jubilee also witnessed colourful displays of rich cultural extravaganza and a number of cultural and literary competitions. Renowned Sumi artists including Zakato Awomi, Abel Assumi and NK Naga were among those who entertained attendees of the jubilee celebration, according to the release.
